Biography

"Swept Away"

Andrea Soler is a Colombian-Canadian artist. She has participated in shows in Colombia, the United States, England and Canada and has received a number of awards and distinctions. Her work is part of several private collections.

Andrea Soler obtained her Honours BA in Fine Arts from Universidad de Los Andes in Colombia and as part of this program, she participated in a one year exchange with Virginia Commonwealth University in the United States, where she focused on film and sculpture. After obtaining her Honours degree, Andrea went to England where she took graduate courses in painting and printmaking, specializing in Collagraph and Carborandum techniques.

In 1999 Andrea moved to Canada where she has continued the learning and experimentation process in her studio and by joining the Open Studio printmaking facilities in downtown Toronto. She has participated in several group and solo shows in Canada and the United States and looks forward to continuing her artistic work. For her, being able to create art is a personal and professional achievement, something she believes she was born to do.
